We are The Tanglefooters

This is the blog and new website of the Tanglefooters (Round) Dance Club of Joplin, Missouri.

The Tanglefooters Round Dance Club was formed in November of 1975 and has been in continuous existence since then. Until the great Joplin EF-5 tornado of May 2011 we met at the Joplin Senior Center, which was damaged by the tornado. We then moved over to Joplin Square Dance Center, 1801 W. 2nd Street, Joplin, two blocks west of Maiden Lane. We liked it much better than the Senior Center, so we decided to stay.

Our Mission

The mission of the Tanglefooters Dance Club is to teach, promote, and perpetuate choreographed ballroom dancing as a wholesome, enjoyable recreational activity of the highest standard for the whole family. We are a Phase II-IV intermediate-level club (dancing a few easy V’s), committed to teaching beginners and developing competent round dancers.
